Access rights

This section of PSIsafe Desktop Management is used to assign user/group rights to various cabinets, folders, and documents. Rights are assigned on a per cabinet basis.

Assigning rights to an individual user or a group is a multi-step process. Log in to PSIsafe Management as a user that has appropriate rights that can be granted to other users, or as the PSIsafe Management system Administrator account.

To begin, select the correct repository and cabinet to configure user access.

The Assigned tab indicates users and groups, and the Effective tab shows rights for an individual in a group and an individual in the same cabinet. Select a user or group from any of these tabs and the summary of their current access rights for the selected repository and cabinet are displayed on the right. Administrators can define access rights by clicking any individual user or group.

Notes:

• Restrictions are first granted at the cabinet level.

  A user/group is either granted the ability to see a cabinet or not.

• A user is granted access to folders based on folder classes.
• A user is granted access to a document based on document classes.
• If a user is part of a group and both are assigned rights to a cabinet, the lesser of the two assignments is used when accessing folders or documents.
