Groups

In PSIsafe Desktop groups, you can designate access rights, workflow routing, and other functions or permissions and administration features throughout the PSIsafe Desktop products.

You can add multiple users into groups. You can use groups to grant common access rights, or to send a document to multiple people during the workflow process.

For example, you can create an "Accounting Staff" group for the users in the accounting department that have the same job functions and document access. You can then apply rights to this group negating the need to assign rights to each individual user. An individual and a member of the group may have different rights to the same cabinet, but the lesser rights will take precedence.

PSIsafe Desktop will choose to restrict access if two types of rights have been assigned, and one set of rights is lesser than the other.

You can also add users to the existing group. After being added to the group, the new user gets exactly the same rights as the other group members.

To add a new Group:

  1. In PSIsafe Management, select User Settings > Groups.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter a name for the Group.
  4. To add users, select users from the list and click Add.
  5. Select the Group type. Only the CNG and FLO groups are currently used. CNG is used for group rights; FLO is used for group Workflow.
  6. Enter a Description for the group.
  7. Click Finish.
