Masks

PSIsafe Desktop masks can be built to improve service unique inputs on certain folder and document-level index fields. Additional masks can be added based on user preference. Masks are based on regular expressions, a common method of formatting data in a variety of platforms. New masks can be added and customized with a bit of research on regular expressions. A user can add regular expressions; however, once added, they cannot be removed.

  1. Select the appropriate mask and click Edit.
  2. Enter the Regular Expression Mask Details.

The required fields are: Name, Sample, and Regular Expression.

  3. Click Save.

Data mask in templates for document titles

There are no restrictions to using data masks in document level indexes that create document titles. Data masks are used in folder indexes and the Automatic naming check box in the Filer window for document titles. A standard set of data masks is made available. You can modify these masks or create a new custom mask to suit your needs.

In PSIsafe Desktop Management > Document Settings > Templates, you can modify templates to apply masks by default to specific fields.

Select the appropriate index, click the ellipsis next to the field within the Default Value column, and the Select items dialog box opens with the available masks. You can then select any of the samples available and click OK.
