Document settings overview

The document settings enable you to set up document managers, classes and templates for your content.

Document managers are programs used to edit or view a particular file type (PDF, Excel, TIF, Microsoft Word, and so on). You can use a different program or manager to view and edit a document. For example, you can set up Adobe Reader to view a PDF file, and Adobe Professional to edit a PDF file. For more information, see Content managers.

Classes define security settings and retention policies for folders, documents and document retention. For more information, see Sensitivity classes.

Templates determine certain parameters for documents. For more information, see Templates.
