Sensitivity classes

As a part of storing content securely, it is crucial that PSIsafe Management administrators create sensitivity classes to control a user or group's ability to access folders and documents. Additionally, administrators are tasked with creating document retention policies required for compliance purposes. The Classes defined in this section determine those security settings and retention policies. If a user has access to the given Class, they are subsequently allowed access to folders and documents assigned to that sensitivity class. As documents are added or created in PSIsafe Desktop, a class is always applied during the import process for security purposes. Classes are an integral part of system access and document control, and should be given due consideration in regards to security policies that must be enforced within your organization.

Two sensitivity class levels exist: Folders and Documents. After creating sensitivity classes, rights are assigned to individual users and/or groups. For example, Confidential is set up as a folder class: Rights are assigned to users for the folder called PSIsafe Management. Only users with rights to PSIsafe Management can see the folder when logged in to the PSIsafe Desktop client.
