Convert documents to black and white

Use the procedure in this topic to convert your documents to black and white.

After you have fully configured and trained your project, you can minimize the size of your training and test sets by converting them to black and white.

PDFs with many pages and only a text layer or a small PDF compressed with more advanced compression methods may increase in size when converted to a black and white TIFF.

Procedure

  1. Open one of the following document sets types in either the List View or the Hierarchy View:

    • Any test set.

    • The Extraction Set.

    • The Classification Set.

    A list of documents in the selected document set are displayed in the Documents pane.

  2. Select one or more documents in the Documents pane.
  3. On the Documents tab in the ribbon, in the Documents group, select Convert to Black & White.

    A progress bar is displayed to indicate when the selected documents are converted to black and white.

  4. Optional. Repeat the previous steps for other document sets.
  5. Save your project.
