Test single field script validation methods

Use the procedure in this topic to test a single field validation method.

The single field validation method is designed to validate one field at a time. Different fields can have different validation methods, but each method needs to be tested separately.

Procedure

  1. On the Project tab, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings Project Settings icon.
  2. Select the Validation tab to view the validation settings.
  3. Select the single field script validation method to test and select Properties Properties icon.
  4. In the Testing group, enter a test string into the Sample input text field and select Validate Valid Field Result icon.

    A message is displayed below the Validate button with the test results.

  5. Modify the validation method properties until you are satisfied with the test results.
  6. Select Close to save the validation method properties.
  7. Optional. Select OK to close the Project Settings window.
  8. Save the changes to your project.
