Add a string substitution

Use the procedure in this topic to add one or more string substitutions.

Since string substitutions can be added to both an Address Evaluator and a Local Fuzzy Database, you need to first open the relevant properties window before you can add string substitutions.

Procedure

  1. In the String Substitution group, enter the text that forms a possible input locator result or a database lookup text search string into the Search Text box.

    The string is replaced before it is compared with the database.

    The search text should be unique and longer than the replace text.

  2. Enter the text that replaces the string added in the Search Text box into the Replacement Text box.
  3. Select Add.
  4. Optional. Repeat the previous steps to add additional string substitutions.
  5. Optional. Select OK to save your string substitutions and close the properties window.
  6. Save the changes to your project.
