Generative AI classification

Use this type of classification to define classes and document types by name only, and optionally, by description, without having to provide samples to train each type. Generative AI classification uses large language models to determine the classification of a document. Generative AI classification is disabled by default for all projects.

You can combine this classification type with one or both of layout classification and content classification or use it alone.

When generative AI classification is used alone, you do not need any training documents. This is useful if you do not have any training documents or do not want to collect training documents.

When used alongside layout and content classification, generative AI classification provides an additional classification method that is run when the other classifiers fail to return a confident classification result.

Since layout and content classification require training documents, processing a new document that has not been trained always fails. However, if you use generative AI classification in addition to the other classifiers, it is possible to get a classification result without any training documents.
