Work with validation methods
Use the procedure in this topic to work with the validation methods in your project.
Procedure

On the
Project tab, in the
Configuration group, select
Project Settings
.
- Select the Validation tab to view the validation settings.

Depending on your requirements, do one of the following:

Add a validation method
To improve extraction results, use validation methods to check if the extracted data meets the required criteria.

Select Add
.
The New Validation Method window is displayed.

In the Name field, enter a validation method name.

Select a validation method Type and select OK.
The properties window for the selected validation method is displayed.

Configure and test the validation method properties.

Select OK to save and close the validation method properties window.
Rename a validation method
This is useful if the validation method is not improving the results as expected.

Select the validation method to rename.

Select Rename
.

Enter a validation method name and press Enter.
The validation method name is updated in the list.
Modify a validation method

From the list of validation methods, select one to modify.

Select Properties
.
The properties window for the selected validation type is displayed.

Modify and test the validation method properties as needed.

Select OK to save and close the validation method properties window.
Delete a validation method
If you no longer need a validation method, remove it from the project to ensure that obsolete validation methods are not used by mistake.

Select the validation method to delete.

Select Delete
.

When prompted, select Yes to confirm the deletion.

- Optional. Select OK to close the Project Settings window.
- Save the changes to your project.
