Import a string substitution

Use the procedure in this topic to import string substitutions.

If another project uses the same dictionary as this project, you can import a set of string substitutions rather than manually add them again.

A database can only have a single set of string substitutions. If a fuzzy database has string substitutions defined already when an import is done, those strings are lost. You are warned if this happens so you can choose whether to abandon the import or overwrite the existing strings.

Procedure

  1. On the Project tab, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings Project Settings icon.
  2. Select the Databases tab to view the databases settings.
  3. In the String Substitution group, select Import.
  4. Navigate to and select the substitution file (*.sdl), and select Open.

    The String Substitution table is updated with the values in the imported file.

  5. Optional. Add, modify, or delete the imported string substitutions.
  6. Optional. Select OK to close the Project Settings window.
  7. Save the changes to your project.
