Modify a string substitution

Use the procedure in this topic to modify a string substitution.

Since string substitutions can be modified for both an Address Evaluator and a Local Fuzzy Database, you need to first open the relevant properties window before you can modify any string substitutions.

Procedure

  1. In the list of string substitutions, select the row to be modified.
  2. If necessary, enter the new text that forms a possible input locator result or a database lookup text search string in the Search Text box.

    The search text should be unique and longer than the replacement text.

  3. If necessary, enter the new text that replaces the Search Text value for database comparison in the Replacement Text box.
  4. Select Modify.
  5. Optional. Repeat the previous steps to modify additional string substitutions.
  6. Optional. Select OK to save your string substitutions modifications and close the properties window.
  7. Save the changes to your project.
