Manage the Quick Access toolbar

The first time you open the Transformation Designer, the Quick Access toolbar is not displayed because it has no settings assigned to it by default. As a result, you can select the settings to include on the toolbar.

Use the procedures in this topic manage the quick access toolbar.

Relocate the Quick Access toolbar

This toolbar can be located in two different positions. It can be located above the toolbar or below the toolbar.

Procedure

  1. In the main Transformation Designer window, hide or close any windows that block the Ribbon.
  2. Right-click anywhere on the Ribbon or the Quick Access toolbar and select one of the following settings:
    • Show Quick Access Toolbar Above the Ribbon
    • Show Quick Access Toolbar Below the Ribbon

    The Quick Access toolbar is now displayed in the desired location, either above or below the Ribbon.

Add a setting to the Quick Access toolbar

Use the procedure in this topic to add a setting to the quick access toolbar.

If you use a particular setting frequently enough, you may want to avoid changing tabs on the Ribbon and add this setting to the Quick Access toolbar. This means the setting is always available, regardless of the open Ribbon tab.

Several of the Ribbon settings such as Cut Cut icon, Paste Paste icon, and Delete Delete icon, change their behavior depending on the selected Project Tree item. As a result, it is important to ensure you have selected the correct item in the Project Tree before selecting one of these settings from the Quick Access toolbar.

Procedure

  1. In the main Transformation Designer window, hide or close any windows that block the Ribbon.
  2. Open the tab on the Ribbon that contains the setting you are adding to the Quick Access toolbar.
  3. Right-click the setting and select Add to Quick Access Toolbar.

    The selected setting is added to the end of the Quick Access toolbar.

Remove a setting from the Quick Access toolbar

If there is an option in the Quick Access toolbar that is no longer needed for quick access, it can be removed.

Removing an item from the Quick Access toolbar does not remove the option from the Ribbon.

Procedure

  1. In the main Transformation Designer window, hide or close any windows that block the Ribbon.
  2. Locate the Quick Access toolbar option to be deleted.
  3. Right-click the option and select Remove from Quick Access Toolbar.

    The selected setting is removed from the Quick Access toolbar.
