Import classification instructions using Import as New

Use the procedure in this topic to import instructions as new.

Once you export instructions from another project, you can import them for re-use in other projects. This reduces effort because you are not forced to re-create the instructions from scratch each time they are required. When importing instructions, there are two separate settings. You can Import classification instructions. Using this setting overwrites any existing classification instructions. If you want to keep the existing instructions, you can append the imported instructions by using the Import as New setting.

Procedure

  1. In the main Transformation Designer window, hide or close any windows that block the Ribbon.
  2. Open the Project Tree window if it is not already open.
  3. Expand the Project Tree and select the class.
  4. Optional. View the class contents if they are not already displayed.

    The hidden class contents are displayed.

  5. On the Design tab, in the Edit group, select Import Import icon.

    The Import Instructions window is displayed.

  6. Select a file that contains previously exported instructions and select Open.
  7. Optional. Delete or modify instructions in the Instruction Properties window.
