Map a zone to a subfield

Use the procedure in this topic to map a zone to a subfield.

To get extraction results from an Advanced Zone Locator, a zone subfield needs to be mapped to a zone. This ensures that a field can be easily mapped to the subfield.

Any subfields that are defined on the Subfield Definition pane, that are not mapped to zones on the Zone/Subfield Mapping pane produce no data and should be deleted.

Procedure

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. Select on the Subfields tab.
  3. In the Zone/Subfield Mapping group, select the zone that you are mapping to a subfield.
  4. For each zone, map it to a subfield by selecting a value in the Subfield list.
  5. Open a test document and select Test to test your settings.
  6. Optional. Select Close to close the locator properties window.
  7. Save the changes to your project.
