Service authentication

This section is available for Administrators.

The "Service authentication" section specifies shared secrets that are used to authenticate the following clients with Management Console and provide additional security.

  • Kapplets

  • RoboServer

  • Desktop Automation Service (DAS)

  • Synchronizer

  • Robot File System (RFS)

  • Document Transformation Service (DTS)

Actions

When you click a context menu for a client, the following actions are listed.

  • Show shared secret: Displays the shared secret for the certain client and the date of its generation.
  • Change shared secret: Generates a new shared secret.

  • Revoke tokens: Revokes the shared secret for the selected client.

Management Console automatically generates the shared secret when started for the first time. It is then stored in the Management Console database and remains unchanged until you explicitly generate a new one by clicking Change shared secret. If the shared secret is changed in the Management Console, copy and paste the new secret into the client.

To revoke the shared secret, perform the following actions.

  1. Open the context menu for the required client and select Change shared secret.

  2. Select Revoke tokens.

  3. Update the shared secret in the client and restart it if required.
