Manage a Quick Apps solution

You can deploy, or compare and deploy the Quick Apps solution.

To work with Quick Apps solutions, navigate to Quick Apps > Quick App solutions. A list of solutions appears.

Deploy a solution

  1. In the Quick Apps solutions list, on the context menu of the solution, click Deploy.

A new browser tab opens. All the artifacts including an entry for the Quick App solution itself is listed.

  2. On the Deployment tab, do the following:
    1. On the Deploy to list, select the pre-configured deployment server for which to deploy the solution. See Configure a deployment server.
    2. By default, the Execute test plans is selected which means the test cases for the processes within the solution are executed. Clear the check box if you do not want to execute the test cases.
  3. To filter on the type of artifacts, on the Artifact list, select the type of artifacts such as Forms. (Default: All)

All the artifacts for the selected type are displayed.

  4. On the Import options tab, include or exclude the deployment import options, as needed.
  5. Click Deploy.

The Quick Apps solution is exported as per the export option settings and imported to the deployment server applying the import options.

    • If the deployment fails, a summary of errors and warnings is displayed on the Results tab and an entry is added to the audit log to record that the deployment has failed.

    • If you have selected the Allow solution rollback system setting and if any error occurs on deployment, the Rollback solution button appears. To roll back the solution, click Rollback solution. The solution is rolled back. For more information on items that can be rolled back, see Solution rollback items.

    • If any error occurs during rollback, you can Retry or Cancel the solution rollback. An audit log entry is added for the solution rollback.

For more information on "Deployment", "Import options", and "Results" tabs, see Deploy a package to a deployment server.

Compare and deploy a solution

You can compare a solution before deploying, to make sure that all the items you need are included for import.

  1. In the Quick Apps list, on the context menu of the solution, click Compare and deploy.

The Compare deployment page opens in a new browser tab with the Compare tab open by default.

  2. On the Compare tab, do the following:
    1. On the Deploy to list, select the pre-configured deployment server. See Configure a deployment server.

The comparison summary between the current server solution and the contents on the selected deployment server is displayed.

The system displays the name, artifact, version, and last modified date of artifacts for both the solutions and highlights the new artifacts in green, different artifacts in red, and matching (that is, no changes) as is.

By default, all the artifacts are displayed. To filter on new, different, or the same artifacts, on the View list, select the required option (Default: Total). You can also view the new, different, or same artifacts for a specific type. For example, to view the new Capture artifacts, select Capture on the Artifact list, and New on the View list.

    2. By default, the Execute test plans option is selected which means the test cases for the processes within the solution are executed. Clear the check box if you do not want to execute the test cases.
  3. On the Import options tab, select the Deployment import options, as needed.

If an item is deselected, the item and its associations are not imported.

  4. Click Deploy.

The Quick Apps solution is exported as per the export option settings and imported to the deployment server applying the import options.

    • If the solution already exists on the target server with the same name, then the content of the solution is imported, as the version of the content may have changed.
    • If the solution exists with a higher version on the target server, then the error is displayed stating: "A Quick Workflow with a higher version already exists, and therefore could not be imported."

For more information on "Compare", "Import options", and "Results" tabs, see Compare and deploy a package.
