Manage a form template

You can modify, copy, delete, lock, unlock, tag a form template, and revert to previous versions of form templates.

Modify a form template

  1. Navigate to User interface > Form templates.
    A list of form templates available within your working category appears.
  2. Select or locate the form template to modify.
    The form template opens in a new browser tab.
  3. Make changes, as needed.
    Any modifications to the form template do not affect the forms where the form template is being used because once the form template is added to a form, the controls behave as individual controls and do not affect the form template.
  4. Save the template.

Copy a form template

  1. Navigate to User interface > Form templates.
    A list of form templates appears.
  2. On the context menu of the form template to copy, click Copy.
    A copy of the form template prefixed with "Copy 1 of" to the <form template name> appears on the Form templates page.
  3. Open the copy of the new form template.
    The form template opens in a new browser tab.
  4. Make changes as needed and click Save.

Delete a form template

  1. Navigate to User interface > Form templates.
    A list of form templates appears.
  2. On the context menu of the form template to delete, click Delete.

    On confirmation, the selected form template is deleted.

Revert a form template to a previous version

You can revert a form template to create a new version of the form template based on an earlier version.

Verify that the form template is not open.

  1. Navigate to User interface > Form templates.
    A list of form templates appears.
  2. On the context menu of the form template, click Versions.
    The Versions dialog box displays the following details: Versions, the resource who modified each version, and the last modified date of each version.
  3. On the context menu of the version of the form template to revert to, click Revert and then click Save.

    The reverted version appears in the list.

  4. Close the Versions dialog box.

Lock or unlock a form template

  1. Navigate to User interface > Form templates.
    A list of form templates appears.
  2. On the context menu of the form template to lock, click Lock. Similarly, on the context menu of the form template to unlock, click Unlock

    The form template is locked or unlocked.
