Configure a Document conversion activity
Use the following procedure to configure a Document conversion activity.
-
Add an activity to the map.
By default, the Configuration tab is open in the properties panel of the activity.
- Change the default Name of the activity to something meaningful.
- On the Type list, select .
-
On the
Input document/folder list, select a variable to configure the input for the
Document conversion activity.
When you select any of the following options in the Document conversion profile, you must only select a folder variable and not a document variable.
- Enable Portfolio PDF extraction
- Enable ZIP extraction
- Concatenate multiple PDF files
-
On the
Conversion profile list, select a profile for document conversion.
It is mandatory to select a document conversion profile.
-
To convert the password-protected PDF files to TIFF or PDF or PDF/A, on the
Password list, select a list of passwords.
- To avoid any potential security concerns, a synchronous process in the
TotalAgility
map must include the
Dynamic complex
variable containing the passwords and the SDK method to encrypt the passwords. To configure this, you must do the following:
-
Create a custom node that will populate a dynamic complex variable with a list of plain text passwords.
-
Add a separate node to call the EncryptStrings method in ServerService service to encrypt the array of plain text passwords.
-
Pass the encrypted array to the Document conversion node as Dynamic complex variable.
-
- TotalAgility does not support conversion of password protected PDF Portfolio and ZIP files.
The document conversion node tries to open the PDF with the provided passwords until it succeeds. If none of the passwords match, the document conversion fails.
- To avoid any potential security concerns, a synchronous process in the
TotalAgility
map must include the
Dynamic complex
variable containing the passwords and the SDK method to encrypt the passwords. To configure this, you must do the following:
-
Select
Save page PDF data.
The original PDF source file splits into single-page PDF files and these page PDF representations are saved on page level as binary extensions. This allows you to preserve additional data stored in a PDF file.
-
Select one of the following for
Reject documents on exceptions.
-
Use system level setting (default): The system rejects the documents or pages or suspends the job based on the selection of the "Reject documents on exceptions" option in the System settings. For more information, see General.
-
Enabled: All the Transformation server activities reject documents or pages instead of suspending the job when an error occurs. The job continues forward to check for rejected documents and handles the documents accordingly.
-
Disabled: The system suspends the activity on exception.
-
- Save the process map.
