Design a basic process
You can design a basic process using activities, decisions, annotations, attachments, and end nodes.
You can also generate a process using Generative AI.
For example, the following sample process of loan approval includes:
-
The "Credit Check", "Get Approval" activities
-
The "Approved" decision,
-
The "Send Confirmation Letter" or "Send Rejection Letter" based on the decision
-
The "Transfer Money" activity based on the Send Confirmation Letter activity
When you design a process map using this logical sequence of steps, the process map looks like the following map.
You can use standard BPMN event types to denote that something happens at the beginning (Start node) and end (End node) of a process.
BPMN positions itself as a bridge between process modeling and process implementation. BPMN is readily understandable by both technical developers and business users. It provides a graphical notation that is intuitive to business users yet able to represent complex process semantics.
Once a process is created, you can move and link elements, delete the link between elements, delete elements (except the start node), change the orientation, zoom the process, automatically rearrange the layout, and snap to the grid.
Refer to "Process design guidelines" in the Kofax TotalAgility Best Practices Guide.

New.
The Design view of the process opens in a new browser tab.
- A default name appears in the Name field. You can change the name for the process as required.
-
Add the following:
-
Decision (optional)
-
Annotation (optional)
-
Attachment (optional)
- Configure the process properties.
-
To link two nodes, drag the arrow connector from one node to another.
A line appears indicating the connection.
- Optional. Model your process map to add event types for the Start and End nodes.
- Save and release the map.
