Business rule modeling bar
The modeling bar of a business rule include tabs that help in designing the rule.

Use this tab to perform the following commands.

Associations |
Provides visibility of where the processes or rules are being used in a current business rule or which processes or rules are using the current business rule. See View Associations. |
Test |
Test a saved or released business rule to identify potential errors. See Test a business rule. |
Version history |
Lets you view the version history of a rule. For each version you can view the resource that modified it, the last modified date, and comments (if any). You can also open a version of a rule if you have the required access permissions. |
Compare |
Lets you to visually compare the workflow along with details of various items that have been added, deleted, or updated between the two selected versions of the same rule. You can also view the details such as business rules name, version, resource that last modified it, and the last modified date. For more information, see Work with business rules. The "Compare" option is not available for decision table and work queue automation rule. |
Documentation |
Lets you create a document for the business rule. See Document a process. |
Test plan |
Lets you create test cases for a rule and view the list of test cases that exist for a rule. See Create a test plan. |
Quick App |
Lets you make this business rule available for use within Quick Workflow and Quick RPA. Select Quick Workflow and Quick RPA and click Update. The "Apps" list within system settings is automatically updated. When you update in the system settings, the changes are reflected in the business rule. You must have Read/Write or Full Control permissions in the Access control list to be able to update this setting. The "Quick App" option is on the File tab is only available for a released business rule. |
Developer tools |
Lets you generate the JSON payload for the specific business rule and the selected API or method, to quickly get the JSON request and response. See Generate the JSON payload for a business rule. This option is available even if the rule is opened with read-only access or if the rule is locked by other users; however, this option is not available for the Work queue automation rule. |
Save |
Saves rule changes and creates a minor version of the rule, such as Get Customer Details v0.01. You can only start a job based on a saved business rule map if you have a development license. |
Save with comments |
Saves the rule with comments (if any) about the details of the changes for each version. |
Release |
Releases the rule, and creates a major version of the rule, such as Get Customer Details v1.0. You can only use a released rule in production. |
Release with comments |
Releases the rule with comments (if any) about the details of the changes for each version. |
Close |
Closes the rule without saving it. |
Close and unlock |
Whenever an item is released, it is locked by default. Use this option to automatically unlock an item. |

Use this tab to model a business rule. See Design a basic process.

Business rules properties panel: Includes different tabs for configuring the properties of the rule or its selected element. See Process properties.
Variables
Use this tab to create variables for a business rule.
Data model
Use this tab to create a local data model.
This tab is only available for flow rules and business trees. It is not available for decision tables and work queue automation rules.
Business data
Use this tab to manage data that is used to make decisions within the rule such as discount rates, years of service, maximum loan amount, and more. This data can be changed by business users with appropriate rights so they can take more control of the business. See Manage business data.
