Manage system tasks
Use the following procedure to manage system tasks.
-
Navigate to
.
The System tasks page appears and displays a list of system tasks with the following details:
-
Name
-
If the task is active or inactive
-
Current interval in which the system task executes
-
Due date and time
-
-
From the System tasks table, select a task to edit.
The Edit system task dialog box is displayed.
- By default, the system task is active. To make the system task inactive, clear the check box for Active.
-
To modify the
Interval in which to execute the task, enter the values in days, hours,
and/or minutes.
The system executes the task at the defined interval.
- To configure the Timeout interval that specifies how long the worker task can run before it is automatically reset, enter the values in days, hours, and/or minutes. (Default: 5 Mins, Minimum: 1Min and Maximum: 23 Hrs 59 Mins 59 Seconds)
-
For some tasks such as Job Scheduling, you can change the date and time of task execution.
- Select Use start time.
-
Enter the values using the Calendar and Time Picker.
When you specify the start time, the system task first executes at the start time and the next execution depends on the interval set.
-
Set the
Operating time (start time and end time) in hours and/or minutes to optimize
the use of resources for high-priority work during critical times of the day. You can combine the operating time with the system
task interval to calculate the next due date for the system task to execute.
When you use the start time and set an operating time, the time portion of the start time is the first portion of the operating time. For example, if the start time is 06/09/2017 @ 14:08 and the operating time is 18:00 - 20:00, then the start time of the task will be 06/09/2017 @ 18:00.
-
If the date and time combined are in the past, an error occurs.
-
If the specified operating time is cleared, the updated system tasks do not resume immediately, and the due date time is set with the current date time + 10 minutes.
-
If no period is defined, the next due date for a system task is calculated using the active indicator and the system task interval.
-
- Click Save.
- In the System tasks dialog box, click Refresh to get the latest details for system tasks.
- Click Cancel to close the dialog box.
