Design a Capture process

You can design a Capture process using one or more Capture activities, decisions, annotations, attachments, and end nodes.

You can view, copy, modify, unlock and delete a Capture process. You can debug a Capture process, open a process version, and tag items to the process.

  1. Create an extraction group and classification group.
  2. From the process properties, on the Capture tab, select the classification group and the Initialize from scan.
  3. Create Folder and Document variables as needed and set either Folder or Document variable as an initialization variable; otherwise, you cannot save the process.

Locks can occur at the document or folder level. To understand the locking behavior for documents and folders when designing your Capture processes, refer to the "Folder and document locks" section in the Kofax TotalAgility Best Practices Guide.

  4. Add one or more Capture activities to the process.

Depending on the activity, the configuration properties are displayed on the Configuration tab of the activity properties. See Capture activities for more information.

  5. Release the process.

Additional information

See the following additional information for a Capture process.

  • To start the process using scan, create a Scan create new job form. See Capture under Process properties.

  • When creating Activity forms using a Capture process, you can generate forms for one, more, or all manual Capture activities (Scan, Validation, Document review, and Verification). You can generate only one form for each activity. See Capture controls.
