Manage multiple KCM installations on the same server

KCM supports the simultaneous deployment of different KCM installations on the same server.

Only one of these installations can be active at any given time, but it is possible to change the active KCM installation at any point.

The active KCM installation can be used normally, while the deactivated KCM installations are dormant.

The deactivated KCM installations keep all their content and configuration.

Set up a server with multiple KCM installations

In order to setup a server with different KCM installations, follow these steps:

  1. Install the first KCM version. This will automatically make it active.

  2. Stop the KCM installation by using its StopOutputManagement.exe, StopInstance.exe, and StopContractManager.exe tools.

    • To stop the Batch & Output Management of KCM version 5.5 or 5.6, use the StopOutputManagement.<version> tool from the KCM 5.7 installation package.

  3. Deactivate the KCM installation, with its Deactivate.exe tool.

  4. Install the second KCM version. This will automatically make it active.

  5. Repeat steps 2-4 to install more KCM versions.
