Starting KCM Control Center

This section describes how you can use the StartControlCenter.exe tool to start KCM Control Center in your installation.

StartControlCenter.exe is a command-line tool intended to:

  • Start Windows services of KCM Control Center and set their startup type to Automatic.

  • Modify the configuration of KCM Control Center after installation.

You can find this tool in the following folder: <deploy root>\KCM\Programs\<version>\Management\Control Center .

Requirements

This section describes the requirements that must be satisfied before you run the StartControlCenter.exe tool.

  1. The account used to run StartControlCenter.exe must have the local Administrator permissions on the target server.

If you are changing the configuration of KCM Control Center, configure the TLS versions that are allowed for making SSL connections.

Execution steps

To run StartControlCenter.exe, you must execute the following steps:

  1. Open the command line interface (CLI). It could be PowerShell or Command Prompt.

  2. In the CLI, navigate to the folder where the StartControlCenter.exe tool is located.

  3. Call the StartControlCenter.exe file with the necessary parameters.

    If you launch StartControlCenter.exe without any parameters, it will start KCM Control Center with default configuration.

    If everything is correct, the process will run without errors. You will be able to follow it by reading the CLI output.

When you start KCM Control Center for the first time, you must configure OAuth2 (either enable or disable it).

Next time, when you start KCM Control Center, you can reconfigure it.
