How to register certificates for Canon printers
If a Canon printer does not have its own certificates, you can manually register a new one.
Download a certificate
- Open sign-in.printix.net in a web browser.

Select the
Lock icon next to the URL in the address bar.
A menu appears.
- Select Connection is secure.

If you see the option, select
Certificate is valid.
You should see the text "This site has a valid certificate, issued by a trusted authority."

Select the
Show certificate icon next to the text
"Connection is secure."
The Certificate Viewer dialog box appears.
- Select the Details tab.

Select
Export.
The Save As dialog box appears.
- Browse to a convenient location where the certificate will be saved.

In
File name, type
.pem or
.cer at the end of the default name.
If the original name ended with .crt, delete .crt from the file name.
- Change Save as type to All files.
- Select Save.
Register the certificate on a Canon printer
- Open the printer's web page and log in as administrator.
- Select Settings/Registration.
- In the left-hand menu, under Management Settings, select Device Management.
- Select CA Certificate Settings.
- Select Register CA Certificate.
- Select Install.
- Select the certificate file you downloaded in Download a certificate.

Select
Start Installation.
The certificate is installed.
- Return to the Register CA Certificate page.
- Select the certificate you installed, then select Register.
- Select Apply Setting Changes.
